Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is also 1 of the 3 federal programs managed through the Express Entry system, and its main objective is to assist skilled workers with Canadian work experience to immigrate to Canada permanently.
 

To be eligible, one must meet all the minimum requirements mentioned below. 
 

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program Requirements:

  • Have 12 months (non-continuous allowed) of full-time or equivalent paid work experience TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 (formally NOC 0, A, B) in the 3 years before applying.

  • Have gained the work experience in Canada (after graduation in the case of students) with the proper authorization.

  • Work experience gained in Quebec counts, but self-employed, as a business visitor or while waiting for a refugee decision does not.

  • Proof of language proficiency through an approved test. 

    • NOC 0, A = CLB 7

    • NOC B = CLB 5

  • No need to prove settlement funds.

Final process before being approved for Permanent Residency:


After being selected from the Express Entry Pool and awarded with an Invitation to Apply (ITA), the candidate and their dependents will have to take part in two screenings, a medical examination to prove that neither the candidate nor their dependants are medically inadmissible and a background check/security clearance to prove that neither the candidate nor their dependants are criminally inadmissible.
