Express Entry
Express Entry is a selection system the Canadian Government implemented to expedite the Permanent Resident visa process for various Economic Immigration Programs. It is an electronic process with an online system that the Canadian government uses to manage immigration applications from skilled workers. The average processing time would take around 6 months.
The following immigration programs are all managed through the Express Entry system:

General Requirements

Must meet minimum FSW, FST, and CEC (or PNP in some cases) requirements.

Education Credential Assessment is mandatory for FSW; and recommended for FST and CEC.

A job offer is not mandatory, though give points.

Can be nominated by a province (not Quebec) and can apply for PNP and EE at the same time.
-
Valid TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 (formally NOC 0, A, B) work permit holders can apply under EE if there is/was an LMIA.

Quebec work experience counts, but the applicant cannot intend to live in Quebec.

Duel intent is allowed if TFW wishes to apply for PR through EE.

EE profile is only valid for 12 months, and then the applicant must create a new one.

Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) is 1 of the 3 federal programs managed through the Express Entry system, and its main objective is to assist skilled workers with foreign work experience to immigrate to Canada permanently.
To be eligible, one must meet all the minimum requirements mentioned below.
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program Requirements:

Proof of language proficiency CLB 7 in all four skills
-
Canadian secondary or post-secondary degree, or a completed foreign credential and an Educational credential assessment (ECA).
-
1 Continuous year of full-time (1560 total hours of 30 hours/week or equivalent*) paid work
-
experience in the same job within the last 10 years in a TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 (formally NOC 0, A, B).
-
Proof of funds for applicant and accompanying family.
-
Score a minimum of 67 out of 100 points on the six selection factors.
Final process before being approved for Permanent Residency:
After being selected from the Express Entry Pool and awarded with an Invitation to Apply (ITA), the
candidate and their dependents will have to take part in two screenings, a medical examination to
prove that neither the candidate or their dependents are medically inadmissible and a background
check/security clearance to prove that neither the candidate or their dependents are criminally
inadmissible.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is also 1 of the 3 federal program managed through the Express Entry system, and its main objective is to assist skilled workers with Canadian work experience to immigrate to Canada permanently.
To be eligible, one must meet all the minimum requirements mentioned below.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program Requirements:

Have 12 months (non-continuous allowed) of full-time or equivalent paid work experience TEER 0, 1,2, 3 (formally NOC 0, A, B) in the 3 years before applying.

Have gained the work experience in Canada (after graduation in case of students) with the proper authorization.

Work experience gained in Quebec counts, but self-employed, as business visitor or while waiting for a refugee decision does not.
-
Proof of language proficiency through an approved test.

NOC 0, A = CLB 7

NOC B = CLB 5

No need to prove settlement funds.
Final process before being approved for Permanent Residency:

Federal Skilled Trade (FST) is also 1 of the 3 federal program managed through the Express Entry system, and its main objective is to assist skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on the fact that they are qualified in a particular skilled trade needed by Canada.
To be eligible, one must meet all the minimum requirements mentioned below.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program Requirements:

Meet required levels in English or French (CLB: 5 speaking and listening, 4 reading and writing).

Have 2 years * of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a skilled trade within 5 years before
-
applying.
-
Meet all job requirements for skilled trade accordingly to the NOC (except for provincial certificate).

Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades

Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades

Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production

Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators

Have an offer (LMIA approved) of full-time employment from up to two employers for at least 1 year or a Certificate of Qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial body.

Agri-Food Pilot
The Agri-Food Pilot helps address the labour needs of the Canadian agri-food sector.
The pilot provides a pathway to permanent residence for experienced, non-seasonal workers in specific industries and occupations. It will run until May 2023.
To be eligible, one must meet all the requirements mentioned below.
Agri-Food Immigration Pilot Program Requirements:

Job offer from a Canadian employer (outside Quebec) in one of the eligible occupations.

Job offer must be non-seasonal.
-
12 months of full-time non-seasonal Canadian work experience as TFW in the last 3 years (12+ months LMIA required) in one or more of the eligible occupations under one of the eligible industries.

High school diploma and ECA (if applicable)

Must prove settlement funds except if already working in Canada with a valid work permit.
Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot
Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot Requirements:
-
CLB 5 in English or French, proven through an approved exam: IELTS, CELPIP, TEF or TCF.
-
1 year or higher post-secondary education credential, Canadian or ECA-verified.
-
Intent and ability* to perform the tasks required in the NOC description, and measured by proving work experience and/or training through documentation.
-
Genuine full-time job offer* (non-seasonal) from a Canadian employer outside of Quebec.
-
Job offer cannot be from embassy, consulate or high commission.
-
Job offer must match the NOC of the PR application.
-
No LMIA is needed but job must still be open when the applicant is issued with the WP.
-
* Intent, ability and genuine job offer are not needed for PR applicants with the required qualifying work experience.

Occupation-restricted work permit is valid for a maximum of 3 years from POE entry. If 2 years is granted, the WP can be extended for 1 year.
Start-Up Visa
Canada Start-Up Visa program grants Canadian permanent residence to qualified immigrant
entrepreneurs. The program aims to recruit innovative entrepreneurs to Canada and link them with the Canadian private sector businesses, (angel investor groups, venture capital funds or business incubators) and facilitate the establishment of their start-up business in Canada.

Letter of support by the designated angel investor group or venture capital fund or business incubator.
-
Minimum financial commitment of $200,000 from venture capital fund of &75,000 from angel investor, or acceptance into a business incubator program.
-
The organization will send a letter of support to the candidate and a commitment certificate to IRCC.
-

Language requirements of CLB 5+ in English or French.
-
Proof of sufficient settlement funds.
-
Up to 5 applicants for one business are allowed if: each hold at least 10% voting rights and jointlywith the designated organization hold more than 50% voting rights.

If the essential applicant is rejected by IRCC, the other applicants will be rejected as well.
